We are built by campers, for campers. While most directories scrape government data, Pack & Pitch listings are powered by community reviews and campsite owners. We focus on the features that matter most to Australians:

  • ✅ Honest Ratings: Real-world feedback on cleanliness and noise.
  • ✅ Dog Friendly Filtering: Find the best spots where your whole family (including the dog) is welcome.
  • ✅ Hyper-Local: Our search filters target specific Australian regions and features like Waterfront, 4WD Access, and Grey Nomad amenities. We cut the clutter and get you to the perfect spot, faster.

Before you hit the road, here are answers to the most common questions about camping in Australia:

  • Do I need a booking for National Parks? Yes, most state National Parks (NSW, VIC, QLD, etc.) require booking and payment online, often well in advance, especially during peak seasons (holidays and summer). Always check the relevant state park website before arrival.
  • What does “Free Camping” actually mean? Free camping refers to designated areas (usually on council land, forestry tracks, or rest stops) where you can legally camp without a nightly fee. Amenities are often minimal or non-existent, so you must be fully self-contained (water, power, toilet). Never camp illegally.
  • Can I have a campfire? Only use fire pits provided by the campsite. Always check the Rural Fire Service (RFS) website for the relevant state for total fire bans or restrictions, even if a fire pit is available. Never assume a fire is permitted.

Pack & Pitch is growing fast and attracts a highly engaged audience of Australian travelers, families, and Grey Nomads. Listing your business is the best way to reach new guests who are actively planning their next trip.

  • Is there a cost to list? We offer a Free Basic Listing to ensure maximum coverage for our users. You can upgrade to a Premium Listing for enhanced features, photos, and priority placement in search results.
  • How do I update my listing details? Once your listing is approved, you will be given an owner login that allows you to manage all photos, descriptions, prices, and amenities in real-time.
