Lane Cove River Tourist Park (Sydney, NSW)
About This Campsite
Lane Cove River Tourist Park, now operated as Discovery Parks Lane Cove, sits within Lane Cove National Park just 10km from Sydney’s CBD. It is one of the closest campgrounds to the city centre that still offers a genuine bush setting, with spotted gums, lorikeets, and possums right alongside your tent or caravan.
The park provides a full range of accommodation options including powered and unpowered sites on both grass and concrete slabs, one and two bedroom ensuite cabins, and a popular “My First Camping” experience where all equipment is supplied. Facilities are well above average for a national park campground: four amenities blocks with hot showers, a swimming pool and paddling pool, camp kitchen with gas cooking, microwave, fridge and instant hot water, laundry facilities, a recreation room with TV, and a small kiosk at reception. Wi-Fi is available in a limited area near reception.
North Ryde railway station is a 10-minute walk from reception, giving easy public transport access into the city centre within about 30 minutes. Over 40km of bushland trails wind through the surrounding national park, with rowboat and canoe hire available on the Lane Cove River. The park suits everyone from first-time campers wanting a safe, well-serviced introduction to families using it as a Sydney base camp. Powered sites start from around $39 per night for two adults, with children under 12 free.
