Noah Beach Camping Area
About This Campsite
Noah Beach is one of the only places in the world where two World Heritage areas meet: the Daintree Rainforest runs right down to the Great Barrier Reef. You camp among ancient tropical trees just metres from the beach, with the dense canopy overhead blocking out most of the sky. It’s atmospheric, immersive, and unlike any other campsite in Australia.
There are around 10 sites here, all basic. Pit toilets, cold showers, gas BBQs, no drinking water, no bins. You need to be self-sufficient and pack everything out. The sites are well spaced and shaded, giving the whole place a secluded feel even when it’s busy. At $7.50 per person per night (or $30 per family), it’s extraordinary value for the location.
The wildlife is what elevates Noah Beach from great to unforgettable. Endangered cassowaries wander through camp regularly, so keep your distance and never feed them. Saltwater crocodiles inhabit the nearby creeks and coastline, which means absolutely no swimming in the ocean or waterways here. Marine stingers are present from November to May. The Dubuji Boardwalk starts nearby and winds through mangroves and rainforest, and Cape Tribulation Beach is a short drive north. This is raw, wild Far North Queensland camping at its finest.
