Stringybark Campground - Deep Creek National Park
About This Campsite
Stringybark Campground sits nestled in tall stringybark forest within Deep Creek National Park, about 108km south of Adelaide on the Fleurieu Peninsula. With 16 allocated sites spread through the bush, this is the only campground in Deep Creek that offers hot showers and flush toilets, making it the most comfortable base for exploring one of South Australia’s best coastal conservation parks. Sites vary in size and can accommodate tents, caravans and camper trailers, with 2WD sealed road access throughout.
Each site comes with its own fire pit for campfires during the permitted season (1 May to 31 October), though you must bring your own firewood as collection within the park is prohibited. The amenities block includes hot showers, flush toilets and an accessible toilet and campsite. Picnic tables are provided at each site, and the surrounding stringybark canopy offers good shade and wind protection. Water is available but not potable, so bring your own drinking supply. There is no camp kitchen or powered sites.
Several walking trails depart directly from the campground, including the Forest Circuit Walk, Spring Wildflower Walk and Stringybark Loop Walk, each showcasing different landscapes from tall forest to coastal views. Wildlife is abundant with kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas and over 100 bird species regularly spotted. Sites are priced from $29 to $50 per night for up to 8 people, and bookings must be made in advance through the National Parks SA website. The maximum stay is 5 nights. No pets are permitted anywhere in the park. Park entry fees are currently waived through Easter 2026, though camping fees still apply.
