Osprey Bay Campground
About This Campsite
Osprey Bay Campground sits right on the coastline of Cape Range National Park, roughly 70 kilometres south of Exmouth on Western Australia’s Coral Coast. It is widely regarded as one of the most scenic campgrounds in the park, with many sites offering direct ocean views across the Ningaloo Marine Park. The campground is adjacent to the Osprey Sanctuary Zone, making it a prime spot for snorkelling straight off the beach among coral gardens, tropical fish, and the occasional reef shark.
The campground has 46 unpowered gravel sites spread along the shoreline. Facilities are limited to pit toilets and picnic tables at each site. There is no drinking water, no power, and no shade structures, so campers need to bring their own water supply, sun protection, and all provisions. A small boat launch area is accessible by 4WD for kayaks and dinghies. The campground is suitable for tents, campervans, and caravans, though the gravel pads and lack of pull-through sites mean larger rigs should check dimensions before booking.
Bookings are managed through the Parks and Wildlife Service of Western Australia and open 180 days in advance. Sites fill quickly during peak season (April to October), so early booking is essential. Camping fees are $15 per adult per night, with additional park entry fees applying to all vehicles. The location puts you within easy reach of Turquoise Bay, Sandy Bay, and dozens of other snorkelling spots along the Ningaloo coast, plus whale shark season runs from March to July.
