Ningaloo Station
About This Campsite
Ningaloo Station sits on the doorstep of one of Australia’s most spectacular reef systems, offering a raw coastal camping experience near Coral Bay. This is a working cattle station turned campground, and it feels like it. You’re here for the reef, not the amenities. Snorkelling and diving access to Ningaloo Reef is the main draw, with whale sharks, manta rays, turtles, and dugongs all part of the seasonal lineup.
You’ll need a 4WD to get in, as the final stretch is unsealed and can be rough. There are basic facilities on site, but come prepared to be self-sufficient. Drinking water, food, and fuel should all be sorted before you arrive. The nearest shops are back in Coral Bay.
Pets are welcome on leash, and generators are permitted during set hours. Campfires aren’t allowed, so bring a gas stove for cooking. Sites are spread out with a genuine sense of space and seclusion. If you’re after a no-frills base camp for exploring one of the world’s best fringing reefs, Ningaloo Station delivers.
