Halls Gap Lakeside Tourist Park
About This Campsite
Halls Gap Lakeside is the “Resort Upgrade” for families visiting the Grampians. While the town centre parks are convenient for walking to the bakery, they are often cramped and chaotic; this park is located 3km out of town near Lake Bellfield, offering significantly more space and silence. The absolute “Dad Saviour” feature here is the wood-fire heated outdoor pool. In a region where the weather can turn freezing even in summer, having a warm pool means the kids can swim year-round while you relax. The wildlife experience is arguably better here than in the National Park itself—expect to have emus and kangaroos grazing within meters of your awning. The other major strategic advantage is the campfire policy: unlike many commercial parks, they allow fires in raised drums (available for hire), which is non-negotiable for a proper Grampians experience. You also get the perk of an on-site espresso bar, saving you the morning drive into town. The Trade-off: You cannot walk to the pub for dinner; it is a driving or cycling job. However, the trade-off for the premium amenities and private bathrooms is usually worth it.
