Glenworth Valley Campground
About This Campsite
Glenworth Valley Campground is Sydney and the Central Coast’s premier bush camping destination, offering an authentic Australian wilderness experience just one hour from Sydney. Spread across 200 acres of pristine natural bushland along the tranquil Popran Creek, this family-friendly campground combines unspoilt nature with modern amenities for the ultimate camping getaway.
Unlike traditional caravan parks, Glenworth Valley embraces sustainable, dispersed camping where guests choose their own site among large open fields and riverside locations. With over 50 years of history as Australia’s largest horse riding and wilderness adventure center, the valley offers an unmatched combination of bush camping and outdoor activities.
Campers enjoy open-ground campfires under brilliant starry skies, pristine creek swimming holes, and abundant wildlife including kangaroos, wallabies, kookaburras, and over 200 resident horses. The campground features both powered and unpowered sites accommodating all camping styles – from tent campers and first-timers to caravans, campervans, and motorhomes.
Modern facilities include hot showers, flush toilets, running spring water, and an onsite kiosk serving barista-made coffee and hot food. Adventure activities on-site include horse riding, quad biking, kayaking, abseiling, axe throwing, and laser skirmish, making every day an adventure.
The campground maintains a family-friendly atmosphere with 10pm quiet hours and onsite supervision, ensuring a peaceful yet fun environment for all ages. Daily petting farm feeding sessions and the spectacular running of the horses are complimentary experiences included with your stay.
Perfect for families seeking adventure, groups planning outdoor gatherings, or anyone wanting to reconnect with nature while maintaining creature comforts, Glenworth Valley delivers an unforgettable Australian bush camping experience.
"The coolest things I saw were the two Goannas! The horse race was good, especially when they moved them across the river. I liked feeding the goats at the petting farm and finding very long grass for them. You should definitely bring your bike or scooter. Don't forget the mystic fire and big marshmallows!"
