Blue Lake Holiday Park (BIG4)
About This Campsite
BIG4 Blue Lake Holiday Park is the undisputed champion of location in Mount Gambier. Sitting literally on the rim of the volcanic crater, it’s the only place where you can set up camp and walk across the road to see the famous Blue Lake change colour. For families, this is a polished, high-end BIG4 experience that serves as a perfect “circuit breaker” if you’ve been roughing it along the Limestone Coast. The grounds are manicured and flat, offering easy access for even the biggest fifth-wheelers and buses. The absolute standout feature here is the heated indoor swimming pool. Mount Gambier can be notoriously chilly (even in shoulder seasons), so having a warm pool to exhaust the kids in before dinner is a tactical advantage. You are also effectively neighbors with the Valley Lake Wildlife Park (free entry), which is a huge win for keeping toddlers entertained without opening the wallet. Facilities are top-tier: spotless amenity blocks, a modern camp kitchen, and a massive jumping pillow. It is dog-friendly (on sites), making it a great pitstop for the whole family on the Melbourne-Adelaide run.
