Tatapouri Bay Oceanside Accommodation

Tatapouri Bay Oceanside Accommodation sits right on the coast about 15 minutes north of Gisborne, in one of the first places in the world to see the sunrise each day. The beachfront location is the main draw here, with coastal views, good fishing, and marine life including dolphins and seals regularly spotted offshore.

The park has around 30 powered sites with solid facilities. Hot showers, flush toilets, camp kitchen, laundry, baby change room, dump station, WiFi, and gas BBQs are all available. It takes tents, campervans, and caravans up to 12 metres, and pets are welcome on a leash.

Tatapouri is also home to a well-known reef ecology experience where you can hand-feed stingrays and observe marine life at low tide, which is a highlight for families. The wider Gisborne region is uncrowded and underrated, with excellent surf breaks, walking tracks, and a relaxed East Coast atmosphere. Sites start from $30 to $50 per night depending on season and position.
