RAC Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort
About This Campsite
RAC Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort is the only accommodation option within the Monkey Mia Conservation Park, placing you steps from one of Australia’s most famous wildlife encounters. Each morning, a small pod of wild bottlenose dolphins swims into the shallows of Shark Bay to interact with visitors under the supervision of park rangers. The resort sits within the Shark Bay World Heritage Area on Western Australia’s Coral Coast, roughly 850 kilometres north of Perth.
The camping and caravan section offers powered sites, powered beachfront sites, ensuite sites with private bathrooms, and unpowered tent sites. All campers have access to a communal camp kitchen, BBQ facilities, laundry, and shared amenities blocks. Beyond camping, the resort features two swimming pools, a tennis court, mini golf, a recreation room, a general store, and two dining options: the Boughshed Restaurant for sit-down meals and the Monkey Bar for casual drinks overlooking Shark Bay. Pets are welcome on powered caravan sites (maximum two dogs, must be on lead).
A conservation park entry fee is payable at the toll booth on arrival, separate from your accommodation costs. Unpowered camping starts from around $45 per night, with powered and ensuite sites priced higher. The broader Shark Bay region offers kayaking, snorkelling, sunset catamaran cruises, and wildlife encounters with dugongs, turtles, manta rays, and seasonal humpback whales. Shell Beach and Francois Peron National Park are both within day-trip distance.
